VERDIN
BRIDAL NEW YORK

Designer Gustavo Nuñez was steadfast in his decision to debut a bridal collection this season. His own wedding last year to partner Juan Carlos Guzmán served as one point of inspiration, using joy as an act of resistance to fuel his creations in even the most challenging of times.

His brand VERDIN Bridal New York launched in 2017, named after his mother who inspired him to become a designer, and serves as a reminder of his roots in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Titled ‘The American Dream,’ the collection is a personal story about the designer’s journey as an immigrant to America. He fuses his Mexican background with his love for American sportswear in his designs, drawing from his experiences working as a couturier at Marchesa and Reem Acra ateliers. His signature bustier is paired with sharp silhouettes, fitted skirts and delicate lace work, proudly boasting a complete collection fused with Latin taste and sensibility locally developed in New York City’s Garment District.

In the face of many hardships, it’s hard to find silver linings recently. Nuñez’s bridal collection reminds us that as long as we’ve got love and hope, we can dream it all.
